• The TAIR data were imported into an Ensembl schema database by the Nottingham Arabidopsis Stock Centre (NASC).
• Putative orthologs between Oryza sativa ssp. japonica, Arabidopsis and Zea mays gene models were generated using Ensembl's compara pipeline.
